As we reflect on the past year,\u00a0Starfish Malaysia Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0would like to express our sincere appreciation to all our generous\u00a0donors<\/strong>,\u00a0partners<\/strong>,\u00a0volunteers<\/strong>, and supporters<\/strong>. Your continued trust and commitment have enabled Starfish to provide education, care, and development opportunities for children and young people, particularly those from poor and needy backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The year was marked by measurable educational progress, significant infrastructure improvements, and the successful implementation of STEM education initiatives across Sabah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Throughout the year,\u00a0Starfish Malaysia Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0continued to provide structured academic support through both online and face-to-face tuition in key subjects including English, Mathematics, and Physics. This support was delivered by a dedicated group of volunteer tutors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Over 180 students across Starfish\u2019s 5 hostels have shown clear improvement, with progress reflected in school examination results and increased academic confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Starfish is encouraged by the achievements of its alumni, many of whom are now pursuing or have completed tertiary education in fields such as teaching, nursing, pharmacy, medicine, culinary arts, and engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Notable alumni achievements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n These outcomes demonstrate the long-term impact of sustained educational and welfare support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Significant investments were made to improve hostel facilities and ensure a safe, stable, and conducive environment for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Key developments included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n These infrastructure improvements have directly contributed to student wellbeing and significantly reduced disruptions to schooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n STEM refers to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths<\/p>\n\n\n\n With funding support from\u00a0Public Bank<\/strong>, and in collaboration with the\u00a0Sabah State<\/strong> Education Department<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Nottingham University Malaysia<\/strong>, Starfish Malaysia Foundation implemented the Sabah STEM Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The programme delivered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Impact assessment results have indicated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n A significant achievement saw two students from\u00a0SMK Sri Nangka, Tuaran<\/strong>, place 4th in an international drone competition in Kuala Lumpur, using equipment donated through the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The\u00a0Teh Hong Piow STEM Centre<\/strong>\u00a0was established with the generous support of Public Bank, BlueScope Lysaght<\/strong>, and others.
